Saath Nibhaana Saathiya: The Inspiring Love Story of a Joint Family
One of the longest-running Hindi-language drama ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is created by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. The first season of this famous television serial premiered on Star Plus and on Undekha Serial too on May 3, 2010, and it quickly gained popularity. The second season of Star Plus was presented from 19 October 2020 to 16 July 2022. It was based mainly on the Bengali drama “Ke Apon Ke Por” from Star Jalsha and is the version of the long-running drama Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.
The major characters of season 2 are Sneha Jain, Gautam Vig, and Harsh Nagar. When cousins Gopi and Rashi married Modi sons Ahem and Jigar, the first season focused on the Modi family and examined the values and beliefs of a typical Gujarati joint family. However, as time went on, it also focused on the second generation. The plot involved several time leaps, and finally, on July 23, 2017, the series with 2184 episodes declared its end.
Saath Nibhaana Saathiya Season 1 Story/Plot
After the death of her parents, Gopi, a quiet, sweet, and uneducated young woman—was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Urmila and Jeetu. Rashi Shah, the daughter of Urmila and Jeetu, is intelligent, sociable, active, and clever. Ahem and Jigar, cousins who are sons of the Modi family, are wed to Gopi and Rashi. Gopi becomes smarter and more assured thanks to Kokila, Ahem’s devoted and kind mother, who helps him accept her. Rashi frequently attempts to get her into trouble but regrets it afterward, and both are warmly accepted. Kinjal, the sister of Ahem, marries Dhaval, the cousin of Rashi. Later, Rashi and Jigar have twin sons named Sahir and Samar, whereas Gopi and Ahem have a daughter named Meera.
Moreover, After learning that her parents are still alive, Gopi reunites with them. Radha, her evil sister, weds Umang Mehta, one whose wife Tripti later murders him. Gopi is responsible for Umang’s death, and Radha plans to harm Meera. Gopi discovers she is pregnant once again but is unable to inform her family. Radha sets up an accident as the family is out enjoying a picnic, and as a result, Gopi unintentionally throws Meera into the river. Gopi is forced to leave the home by Kokila since she is held accountable for Meera’s death and for stealing the family’s joy.

Alone, gopi gives birth to and raises vidya, her and ahem’s second child, while working as an art teacher in Somgarh. Because Meera and gopi are no longer with them, kokila and ahem feel sad. The Modi family’s grandmother is Rashi. Prateek is Kinjal and dhaval’s son. Vidya discovers that ahem is her father, together with Sahir, Samar, and Prateek. Vidya is made clear to be gopi and ahem’s own daughter. Gopi and ahem finally discover Meera, their long-lost daughter, who was raised as an orphan under the name Gauri. After Radha’s true colors are exposed and she is imprisoned alongside Tripti, the entire family is rejoined.

Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 Drama Story/Plot
The Modi family is shown traveling from Rajkot to Surat to visit Praful Desai and his family, who is the brother of Kokila Modi. The Desai House hired Gehna as a maid when her father devoted his life to protecting Praful from criminals. Gopi learns that Gehna is the reason her previous husband Ahem, who died five years ago, truly lived. Anant, Praful’s third son, helps Gehna and the Modis track out Ahem and reunite with him once he returns from the United States. Modis eventually make their way back to Rajkot as Anant accuses Sagar of trying to intimidate Gehna.
Gehna and Anant’s Marriage
Kanak is upset when Anant eventually marries Gehna, making her the Desais’ daughter-in-law because she views Gehna as a deplorable servant and believes she has no right to elevate her social status. Kanak and Hema have a plan in mind for Gehna, who always has Anant on her side. Anant helps Gehna grow into a self-assured, capable lady and inspires her to pick up her studies once more. However, because the Desais don’t trust Gehna, they don’t understand her, but Anant’s dedication helps her gain their respect. As soon as Jamuna gave Gehna the title of “Best Bahu,” Radhika, Anant’s ex-girlfriend, returned and teamed up with Kanak out of hatred over Gehna gaining acclaim from the Desais. After Gehna exposes Radhika and Kanak, the Desais kicked them out.
Gehna is made accountable for Tia’s situation, but Anant helps bring Sagar’s wife to defend Tia from Sagar’s plan. Tia professes his love for Krishna, Gehna’s best buddy. Returning, Kanak demands money from the Desais at their own home in order to exact revenge on them. After Gehna and Anant retake their home, Kanak is kicked out of the Desai House. Kanak returns with Radhika to make Gehna’s job of keeping the Desai family together more challenging. Anant encourages Gehna to pursue a law degree and begins working on secret operations for the country.
Gehna’s Kidnapping and Anant’s Death
Entering Desai House as Gehna’s law professor, the terrorist Dr. Kumar chooses Gehna to be the target of explosives placed in a tunnel. Sagar helps Kumar get ready, and Anant decides to express his true feelings to Gehna. Gehna is kidnapped on the wedding day. Anant tells Gehna he loves her when he gets to the bomb-planting location. Later, he sacrifices his life to stop a bomb explosion in the city.
After three months, while Gehna believes Anant is dead, Anant returns as Dr. Siddharth Mukherji and shows his patriotism. As Kanak, Sagar, and Dr. Kumar are being held prisoner, Anant confesses to being the real him. The mother and sister of Gehna come back to seek payment from Desais. Swara puts Gehna in jail and marries Pankaj. Kanak helps Gehna escape from jail in order to defend her family from the evil Swara. After Swara is publicly disclosed, Kusum reunites with Gehna. Because of Kanak’s plan, Gehna becomes pregnant but aborts the child.
Dr. Abhay Sinha, a mentally ill doctor who made a family out of his patients by eliminating their memories, kidnaps Gehna. Anant saves Gehna once she regains her memory, but Desais denies her due to his doubts about her honesty. After Anant questions her honesty, Gehna departs from the Desai family in order to maintain her self-respect. Due to Sikandar’s drug deal being disrupted, Anant passes away in a horrible accident.
Six years later, Gehna gets married to Surya
Six years later, Kamya, previously known as Ms. Gehna, lives in Mumbai. She is on a mission to punish and imprison Anant’s killers. She meets renowned photographer Surya Seth. Sikandar is jailed by Gehna for the death of Anant. Later, with the goal of torturing Gehna in order to get his brother Sikandar free from jail, Surya marries her. Gehna saves Surya from his arrogant and selfish stepmother Suhani Seth and her attempts to blame Suhani of killing Surya’s real mother, Urmila. Kanak and Suhani isolate Gehna from Surya while also making fun of her. On Gehna’s birthday, Gopi brings Urmila, Surya’s real mother, back to Seth House.
Finally, at the end of the serial, Gehna receives assistance from Gopi in resolving her family’s issues, but Suhani continues to misrepresent Gehna to Surya. Before heading to Rajkot, Gehna receives courage from Gopi. In the end, Gehna’s attempt to expose Suhani with Kaddu Bua is failed. To divorce Gehna and Surya, Suhani then makes calls to Shakuntala and Riddhima. Gehna demolishes Suhani, uncovering her in front of Surya and letting Sikandar and Sarika to see their failures. Suhani later apologized for her actions and is given a pass. When Surya accepts Gehna as his wife in the final episode, the couple goes on to live a happy life.
